I did want to mention that there were 10 games this week that had a margin of victory of five points or less. In fact, two games ended with a game-winning field goal. It is always nice to see close games in the NFL and also to see your team once in a while blowout another. There were only two games that were blowouts of 20 points or more.
Green Bay 24, Seattle 27: TW: Packers, CV: Seahawks
The game came down to bad playcalling by Mike McCarthy in the 2nd half, and heck the whole game. If you honestly think that you can score 21 points in the first half and then only three in the 2nd half, you honestly shouldn't win the game. I won't even blame the refs for the loss either. Aaron Jones only had 11 carries for 40 yards, not enough to give Aaron Rodgers a bit of balance. Rodgers did throw for 332 yards and two touchdowns. The Seahawks offense in the 2nd half really gave it to the Packers defense as Chris Carson had 83 yards rushing and Russell Wilson had two touchdowns while throwing for 225 yards. I hate to say it but I can't see Mike McCarthy being the head coach by the start of next season.
Week 12: Green Bay: @ Minnesota; Seattle: @ Carolina
TW: 0-1, CV: 1-0
Houston 23, Washington 21: TW: Texans, CV: Texans
The game came down to which defense could hold the other at bay. Both teams had a total of five turnovers (three for the Texans, two for the Redskins). The loss of Alex Smith in the 3rd quarter will spell certain doom for Washington as Adrian Peterson only had 16 carries for 51 yards. Rough Injury for Smith, that I probably thought I'd puke after seeing it.
Week 12: Houston: vs Tennessee (Monday night); Washington: @ Dallas (Thanksgiving)
TW: 1-1; CV: 2-0
Pittsburgh 20, Jacksonville 16: TW: Steelers, CV: Steelers
The game was a story of two Ben Roethlisberger's. The first where Big Ben threw two interceptions to Jalen Ramsey, and the second where he would carry his team for three total touchdowns (two pass, one run). The Jaguars were ahead 16-6 going into the 4th quarter while the Steelers looked dead in the water. Not quite the case after the game was over. It's just a series of losses that the Jaguars have had this season that proves that they're not quite the team that they were at this time last season.
Week 12: Pittsburgh: @ Denver; Jacksonville: @ Buffalo
TW: 2-1; CV: 3-0
Tennessee 10, Indianapolis 38: TW: Colts, CV: Titans
It was one of the two games on the slate that were blowouts on Sunday. Andrew Luck had a great game throwing for 297 yards for three touchdowns. Blaine Gabbert had the only touchdown in the game for the Titans. The AFC South race just got interesting. The Colts running tandem of Marlon Mack and Jordan Wilkins had a rushing touchdown as well. Not a good look for the Titans.
Week 12: Tennessee: @ Houston; Indianapolis: vs Miami
TW: 3-1; CV: 3-1
Dallas 22, Atlanta 19: TW: Cowboys, CV: Cowboys
The game was actually a close one. Not that I thought that the Cowboys would've kept it a close one. Matt Ryan threw for 291 yards and a touchdown, while Dak Prescott threw for 208 yards and zero touchdowns. The legs of Ezekiel Elliot would carry the day in Atlanta as he would run for 122 yards on 23 carries and a touchdown. Prescott would run it in for a touchdown as well. It would be the leg of Brett Maher that would win it for Dallas. Rough way to go Atlanta.
Week 12: Dallas: vs Washington (Thanksgiving); Atlanta: @ New Orleans
TW: 4-1; CV: 4-1
Tampa Bay 35, NY Giants 38: TW: Giants, CV: Buccaneers
The game was a real shootout. The Giants offense went off the chains as Eli Manning had two touchdowns while Saquon Barkley would run it in for two touchdowns as well. Alec Ogletree would intercept a Ryan Fitzpatrick pass for a touchdown as well. The Buccaneers offense was from Jameis Winston's two touchdowns while Ryan Fitzpatrick and Peyton Barber would get a rushing touchdown. It was a rough season to be a Buccaneers quarterback.
Week 12: Tampa Bay: vs San Francisco; NY Giants: @ Philadelphia
TW: 5-1; CV: 4-2
Cincinnati 21, Baltimore 24: TW: Ravens, CV: Ravens
The Ravens kept it interesting in the game. Lamar Jackson got the start for the Ravens in the game and did alright with throwing the ball for 150 yards and had an interception in the game. It was the Ravens running game that carried them to the win. It was Lamar Jackson's legs that gave them a lift, running for 117 yards and Gus Edwards had 115 yards as well. Andy Dalton had to do the work with throwing 211 yards passing and two touchdowns. Not much help from the running backs.
Week 12: Cincinnati: @ Cleveland; Baltimore: vs Oakland
TW: 6-1; CV: 5-2
Carolina 19, Detroit 20: TW: Panthers, CV: Panthers
It was one of the bigger surprises in the week. The Panthers offense was doing fine for the most part. Cam Newton threw for 357 yards and three touchdowns. The Lions really came to play with Matthew Stafford throwing for 220 yards and a touchdown, while the Lions running back Kerryon Johnson would run for 87 yards and a touchdown. The game came down to a failed 2-point conversion by Carolina. Rough way to lose this one.
Week 12: Carolina: vs Seattle; Detroit: vs Chicago (Thanksgiving)
TW: 6-2; CV: 5-3
Denver 23, LA Chargers 22: TW: Chargers, CV: Chargers
The game was wasted for the Chargers. Phillip Rivers threw the football for 401 yards and two touchdowns. Rivers did throw two interceptions, one was a pick-six. The offense for the Broncos was from the running game with Phillip Lindsey running for two touchdowns and Royce Freeman's one touchdown. The Chargers fall back down to earth and the Broncos get their fourth win of the season.
Week 12: Denver: vs Pittsburgh; LA Chargers: vs Arizona
TW: 6-3; CV: 5-4
Oakland 23, Arizona 21: TW: Cardinals, CV: Cardinals
Another game that came down to a field goal. The Raiders offense rebounded with Derek Carr with two touchdown passes on 192 yards passing. Josh Rosen of the Cardinals had three touchdowns while throwing two picks. He had 136 passing yards. The game came down to the leg of Raiders kicker, Daniel Carlson, on a 35-yard field goal. The Raiders losing streak is over and they can at least enjoy a victory for a week.
Week 12: Oakland: @ Baltimore; Arizona: @ LA Chargers
TW: 6-4; CV: 5-5
Philadelphia 7, New Orleans 48: TW: Saints, CV: Saints
It was a game that most people expected to be closer than what it was. It turned out to be a 41-point blowout. Josh Adams had a rushing touchdown for the Eagles and that was about it. Carson Wentz had probably the worst game of his career with a three-interception game while throwing for 156 yards. Drew Brees and company threw for 363 yards and four touchdowns. Mark Ingram had two touchdowns while running for 103 yards.
Week 12: Philadelphia: vs NY Giants; New Orleans: vs Atlanta (Thursday night)
TW: 7-4; CV: 6-5
Minnesota 20, Chicago 25: TW: Vikings, CV: Vikings
It was a game that had a lot of defense. There were six total turnovers in the game, three for each of the two teams. Minnesota had to rely on Kirk Cousins a lot in the game as the Vikings running game was lackluster. Dalvin Cook had nine carries for 12 yards, not going to get it done. The Bears, however, had better success in running the ball with Jordan Howard rushing for 63 yards on 18 carries. Could be a deciding factor come later in the season as Chicago now has the tiebreaker over Minnesota.
Week 12: Minnesota: vs Green Bay; Chicago: @ Detroit (Thanksgiving)
TW: 7-5; CV: 6-6
Kansas City 51, LA Rams 54: TW: Rams, CV: Rams
It was a game that really lived up to its hype. A high flying, high scoring game that showcased two of the best offenses in the league. The game had three defensive touchdowns. Patrick Mahomes had 478 passing yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions. Jared Goff threw for 413 yards and four touchdowns. Goff had the only rushing touchdown in the game. It was a game that surely had to give ESPN good ratings. Still can't stand listening to Jason Witten giving commentary.
Week 12: Kansas City: Bye week; LA Rams: Bye week
TW: 8-5; CV: 7-6
