NFL 2024 Week 10 Recap

Hello readers! Another week of National Football League action has come to an end. The week that was Week 10 brought us a lot of crazy storylines. Such storylines like a slugfest in Baltimore, an upset in Chicago, a wild game in Germany, a blowout in Dallas, a comeback for the ages in Detroit and a blocked kick in Kansas City. All those games and more in this week's recap post.

NFL Week 10 Freaky Stat

The Minnesota Vikings have won six straight games against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They last lost to Jacksonville in 2001.

NFL Week 10 Recap

Cincinnati 34, Baltimore 35

Pick: Ravens

A back and forth affair in Baltimore that came down to a 2-point attempt. Joe Burrow hit 34 of 56 passes for four touchdowns in the game. Three of those went to Ja'Marr Chase. The other went to Tanner Hudson. Chase Brown made some good yardage as he rushed for 13 times for 42 yards with a touchdown. Ja'Marr Chase made his fantasy owners happy and the Bengals happy with 11 catches for 264 receiving yards with the aforementioned three touchdowns. He had the longest play for the Bengals with a 70-yard gain that was for a touchdown. He also had a 67-yard play for a touchdown as well. He basically ran over the Ravens defense. Cincinnati had 470 total yards in the game. It was a good game for them but just not in the scoreboard and the win column. They were at one point up by 14 points in the game. There was some controversy as there was a missed facemask call while there was another one called later on the drive and a holding in the 2-point conversion. For the Bengals, they drop to 4-6 with their playoff hopes slipping from their fingers.

Lamar Jackson had 25 of 33 passes for 290 yards with four touchdowns. Tylan Wallace, Mark Andrews, Rashod Bateman and Nelson Agholor were the players that caught the passes from Jackson. If there was one thing that the Bengals did right was that they limited Derrick Henry. Henry had 16 carries for 68 yards with a touchdown. Tylan Wallace had three catches for 115 yards with a 84-yard gain for the said touchdown to be the longest play for them. At one point they were dealing with long 3rd downs on drives and would punt the ball early in the game. The Ravens were at one point down 21-7 at the 13:09 mark in the 3rd quarter. They eventually would get to a lead with 5:50 left in the 4th quarter. After a 28-21 lead the two teams would score four touchdowns. Baltimore will get 389 total yards in the game. For the Ravens, they survive the game and move on to a 7-3 record with the rival Steelers on the horizon.

Next week:

Cincinnati: @ LA Chargers (Sunday night)
Baltimore: @ Pittsburgh

TW: 1-0

NY Giants 17, Carolina 20 (F/OT)

Pick: Giants

Carolina outlasts New York in Germany. Daniel Jones had 22 of 37 passes for 190 yards with two interceptions. He would get seven carries for 26 yards with a rushing touchdown. At least he had that. Tyrone Tracy Jr. had a good day with running the ball with 18 carries for 103 yards with a touchdown of his own. Wandale Robinson had five catches for 51 yards in the game to be the leading receiver for the G-men. Tracy Jr. had the longest play for the Giants on a play for 32-yards. The Giants had 342 total yards with 175 passing yards with 167 rushing yards. It was a game like most other games for the Giants as turnovers caused them to lose even though it was a close game. For the Giants, they drop to 2-8 on the season but have a break next week.

Bryce Young hit 15 of 25 passes for 126 yards with a touchdown pass to Jatavion Sanders for the first score of the game. Chuba Hubbard would have a big role in the game as he had an astonishing 28 carries for 153 yards with a touchdown run. He had a 26-yard run that was the longest play for the Panthers. Jalen Coker had three catches for 41 yards to be the leading receiver for Carolina. The defense was somewhat opportunistic with two interceptions and even recovered a Giants fumble to get three takeaways, something that the Panthers lacked for a good portion this season. Carolina's offense had 306 total yards in the game. In overtime, the Giants would go on a three and out drive, prompting the Panthers to go for the field goal. Eddie Pineiro would hit a 36-yard field goal to get the win. For the Panthers, they improve to 3-7 on the season with a break next week as well.

Next week:

NY Giants: Bye
Carolina: Bye

TW: 1-1

Buffalo 30, Indianapolis 20

Pick: Bills

Josh Allen and Company hold off the Colts. Allen hit 22 of 37 passes for 280 yards with two interceptions. Allen had a rushing touchdown on 13-yard run while putting up 50 yards on eight carries. James Cook had 19 carries for 80 yards with a touchdown of his own. Mack Hollins had four catches for 86 yards and had the longest play for the Bills with a 44-yard catch. Buffalo's defense had a touchdown on a Joe Flacco interception that was returned to Taron Johnson for a 23-yard score. Tyler Bass hit three field goals in the game. Buffalo had 415 total yards in the game. Despite the turnovers, the Bills would keep moving the ball and got first downs more than the Colts. For the Bills, they improve to 7-2 and face off against the undefeated Chiefs in Orchard Park next week.

Joe Flacco hit 26 of 35 passes for 272 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions. The two touchdowns went to Alec Pierce and Tyler Goodson. Jonathan Taylor had a big day with 21 carries for 114 yards in the game and had the longest play for the Colts with a 58-yard run. It sadly didn't go for a touchdown. Alec Pierce had four catches for 81 yards. Indianapolis had 361 yards of offense in the game. The Colts sadly had the three interceptions and also had a fumble that was recovered by Buffalo. For the Bills, they drop to 4-6 on the season.

Next week:

Buffalo: vs Kansas City
Indianapolis: @ NY Jets

TW: 2-1

Atlanta 17, New Orleans 20

Pick: Falcons

New Orleans survives against the Falcons. Kirk Cousins hit 23 of 38 passes for 306 yards with an interception. Bijan Robinson would get 20 carries for 116 yards with two touchdowns and had a longest play for the Falcons with a 37-yard run. Tyler Allgeier had 11 carries for 59 yards. Drake London had eight catches for 97 yards in the game to be the leading receiver for Atlanta. Atlanta had 468 total yards in the game. It was a game that the Falcons could've won but their defense wouldn't account for Derek Carr coming back. For the Falcons, they drop to 6-4 on the season.

Derek Carr came back to the fold in this one. He hit 16 of 25 passes for 269 yards with two touchdown passes to Marquez Valdes-Scantling for the two scores. Alvin Kamara had 17 carries for 55 yards in the game. Marques Valdes-Scantling caught three passes for 109 yards in the game and had the longest play for the Saints with a 67-yard play for the touchdown. New Orleans had 365 total yards in the game. It was a game that was a blessing for the Saints who let go of Dennis Allen earlier in the week and gave interim head coach Darren Rizzi his first win. For the Saints, they end their seven-game losing streak with a win and improve to 3-7. It was their first win since Week 2 against Dallas.

Next week:

Atlanta: @ Denver
New Orleans: vs Cleveland

TW: 2-2

Denver 14, Kansas City 16

Pick: Broncos

A Chiefs blocked kick keeps them undefeated against Denver. Bo Nix hit 22 of 30 passes for 215 yards with two touchdowns to Cortland Sutton and Devaughn Vele. Audric Estime had 14 carries for 53 yards in the loss to be the leading receiver for the Broncos. Cortland Sutton had six catches for 70 yards in the game and had a 32-yard catch to be the longest play for the Broncos. Denver had 260 total yards in the game. It would be a game where points came at a premium for the Broncos as both touchdowns came in the 2nd quarter and wouldn't score again. They had a chance to win the game on a 35-yard Wil Lutz field goal try that was blocked by Leo Chenel. For the Broncos, they drop to 5-5 on the season.

Patrick Mahomes hit 28 of 42 passes for 266 yards with a touchdown pass to Travis Kelce. It gave him the all-time receiving touchdown mark in franchise history with 76. It would be the only touchdown for the Chiefs. Kareem Hunt wouldn't get a lot of yardage as he had 14 carries for 35 yards. A quiet day for him on the ground. In the air he did have seven catches for 65 yards. At least he was effective in the pass game. Samaje Perine had the honor of the longest play for the Chiefs with a 35-yard play. The offense wouldn't generate a lot of offense but Harrison Butker had three field goals in the game to help the Chiefs. The Chiefs would get 300 total yards of offense in the game but would only muster 16 points in this one. They had a chance to lose this one Leo Chenel would call game and save the undefeated season for at least another week. For the Chiefs, they stay at 9-0 with a trip to Buffalo next week.

Next week:

Denver: vs Atlanta
Kansas City: @ Buffalo

TW: 2-3

Minnesota 12, Jacksonville 7

Pick: Vikings

Four field goals enough to give the Vikings a win. Sam Darnold hit 24 of 38 passes for 241 yards with three interceptions. One of them was a tipped pass, one was a questionable one where the ball looked to hit the ground and the other was a no-brainer. Aaron Jones hit 88 yards on 17 carries for the running back. TJ Hockenson had eight catches for 72 yards in the game. The longest play of the game for the Vikings was a 28-yard catch to Josh Oliver who also caught three other passes for 52 yards. John Parker Romo (nice name buddy) hit four field goals in the game. Minnesota had 402 total yards in the game but wouldn't get a lot of points in this game. Then again their defense would do the work in the game. For the Vikings, they improved to 7-2 on the season.

Mac Jones would play instead of Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence was out with a shoulder injury. It was a game to forget for Jones has he hit 14 of 22 passes for 111 yards with two interceptions. Jones would score the only touchdown for Jacksonville on a run up the middle for a 1-yard play. Travis Etienne had 11 carries for 44 yards. Evan Engram was the leading receiver for the Jags with six catches for 40 yards. The longest play for the Jaguars was a 23-yard catch by Brenton Strange. The Jaguars offense would only compile 143 total yards in the game and would be the fifth lowest total in Jaguars history. For the Jaguars, their depressing season continues as they drop to 2-8.

Next week:

Minnesota: @ Tennessee
Jacksonville: @ Detroit

TW: 3-3

New England 19, Chicago 3

Pick: Patriots

The Patriots upset the Bears at Soldier Field. Drake Maye hit 15 of 25 passes for 184 yards with a touchdown pass to Ja'Lynn Polk. Maye also threw an interception in the game. Polk has had a quiet season so far but he did make his presence known with a caught ball for a score. Rhamondre Stevenson had 20 carries for 74 yards in the game. Austin Hooper caught three passes for 64 yards in the game and had a 28-yard catch early in the game to be the longest play for the Patriots in the game. The Patriots had a good day for Joey Slye as he hit four field goals in the game. It was a better game for the Patriots defense who took it upon themselves to go after Caleb Williams. They made Williams life not fun as they sacked the rookie quarterback nine times. It was a rebound game for them as ehey had let the team down for a good portion of the season. The Patriots had 328 total yards in the game and improve to 3-7 on the season.

Caleb Williams hit 16 of 30 passes for 120 yards. A quiet day for him but a long day for him as he was sacked nine times. Dandre Swift had 16 carries for 59 yards in the game. Keenan Allen had five catches for 44 yards in the game. The longest play for the Bears was a 18-yard catch by DJ Moore who had three catches for 24 yards. It was an ugly day for the Bears on offense who had 69 net passing yards, went 1 for 14 on 3rd down conversions but did go 2 for 4 on 4th down. Chicago had 142 total yards in the game. For the Bears, they drop to 4-5 and have lost three straight games and haven't won a game since the 35-16 win against Jacksonville in London.

Next week:

New England: vs LA Rams
Chicago: vs Green Bay

TW: 4-3

Pittsburgh 28, Washington 27

Pick: Steelers

The Steelers comeback and win in Landover. Russell Wilson hit 14 of 28 passes for 195 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. Pat Friermuth, George Pickens and Mike Williams were the receivers of the Wilson passes for touchdowns. It was the Mike Williams touchdown that gave the Steelers a 28-27 lead. Jaylen Warren had 14 carries for 66 yards in the game. Najee Harris had 21 carries for 53 yards with a touchdown run. George Pickens was the leading receiver for the Steelers with five catches for 91 yards and had a 32-yard play that was the longest play for Pittsburgh. The Steelers were down 24-14 with 12:55 left in the 3rd quarter but would answer back with a 14-3 run to end the game. The Steelers put up 312 total yards in the game and improve to 7-2 record with a date with the Ravens next week.

Jayden Daniels hit 17 of 34 passes for 202 yards in the game. He wouldn't get a lot of yardage on the ground as he rushed three times for five yards. Austin Ekeler had 13 carries for 44 yards with two touchdowns. Jeremy McNichols had four carries for seven yards with a touchdown on a 1-yard run up the middle. Terry McLaurin caught five passes for 113 yards in the game and had the longest play for the Commanders with a 54-yard play. It wouldn't result in a touchdown. The Commanders wouldn't be able to sustain drives as they went to 5 for 14 on 3rd down conversions as they had 23:49 of ball possession. For the Commanders, their 3-game winning streak ends as they drop to 7-3 with a date against rival Philadelphia next week.

Next week:

Pittsburgh: vs Baltimore
Washington: @ Philadelphia (Thursday night)

TW: 5-3

San Francisco 23, Tampa Bay 20

Pick: 49ers

San Francisco survives as Christian McCaffrey returns. Brock Purdy hit 25 of 36 passes for 353 yards with two touchdowns to Ricky Pearsall and George Kittle. Christian McCaffrey made his return after suffering an Achilles injury. The running back was limited as he rushed 13 times for 39 yards with six catches for 68 yards. Jauan Jennings caught seven passes for 93 yards in the game. The longest play for the Niners was a 46-yard play to Ricky Pearsall for the touchdown that got things going for the 49ers. You have to remember the guy was shot in August in the chest. Quite a comeback for sure. San Francisco had 413 total yards in the game. It would be a game where the 49ers offense would take a break as they had went 5 for 11 on 3rd downs. Field goal misses were plenty as Jake Moody missed three of them in the game. Suffice to say, Jake Moody hit a 44-yard field goal that would give the 49ers a win and give them a 5-4 record as they play host to the Seahawks.

Baker Mayfield hit 18 of 29 passes for 116 yards with a touchdown pass to Rachaad White. Bucky Irving had 13 carries for 73 yards with a touchdown run. Rachaad White had six catches for 39 yards in the game. The longest play for the Buccaneers was a 15-yard play to Cade Otton. Despite the close game, the Buccaneers wouldn't doa whole lot in the game. The field goal misses would've made them a bit happier but wouldn't take advantage of the misses. Tampa Bay had 215 total yards in the game but drop to 4-6 on the season but have a bye next week.

Next week:

San Francisco: vs Seattle
Tampa Bay: Bye

TW: 6-3

Tennessee 17, LA Chargers 27

Pick: Chargers

Justin Herbert leads the way against the Titans. Will Levis returned to the fold and hit 18 of 23 passes for 175 yards with two touchdowns. A solid day for him. Both touchdowns went to Calvin Ridley. Tyjae Spears had seven carries for 47 yards in the game. Tony Pollard had nine carries for 44 yards in the game. Calvin Ridley had five catches for 84 yards and had the longest play for the Titans on a 41-yard play that resulted in the first touchdown for the Titans with a 7-3 lead. Tennessee would have an early lead but they wouldn't regain it after the first Ridley touchdown and the Chargers would proceed to score 10 unanswered points. The Titans had 289 total yards in the game. For the Titans, they drop to 2-7 on the season.

Justin Herbert hit 14 of 18 passes for 164 yards with a touchdown pass to Quentin Johnston and had nine carries for 32 yards with a touchdown. He had a solid game for sure. Gus Edwards had 10 carries for 55 yards. JK Dobbins had 15 carries for 50 yards. Hassan Haskins had two carries for four yards with a touchdown as well. Ladd McConkey had two catches for 52 yards and had a 37-yard play for the longest play for the Chargers. Cameron Dicker hit two field goals in the game early before the Chargers scored three touchdowns. Los Angeles had 309 total yards in the game. For the Chargers, they improve to 6-3 on the season and play host to Cincinnati next week.

Next week:

Tennessee: vs Minnesota
LA Chargers: vs Cincinnati (Sunday night)

TW: 7-3

NY Jets 6, Arizona 31

Pick: Cardinals

Arizona proceeds to curb stomp the Jets at home. Aaron Rodgers hit 22 of 35 passes for 151 yards in the game. That's 6.8 yards/pass completion. Not a great game for him. Breece hall had 10 carries for 52 yards in the game. Garrett Wilson had five catches for 41 yards to be the leading receiver for the Jets. The longest play in the game was a Breece Hall catch for a 15-yard gain. He had four catches for 31 yards. As far as what went wrong for the Jets, it feels simply: everything. The defense couldn't stop the Cardinals, their offense couldn't score points. I mean they only had 207 total yards of offense. Perhaps maybe letting Robert Saleh go earlier this season did nothing to solve their issues. For the Jets, they drop to 3-7 and have little to no hope of making the playoffs.

Kyler Murray had a good game. He had 22 of 24 pass completions for 266 yards with a passing touchdown while rushing for two touchdowns on 21 yards. He had a good game for sure as he had 30 fantasy points. Trey Benson had 62 yards on 10 carries. James Conner had 33 yards on 12 carries with a 1-yard run up the middle for a score. James Conner had five catches for 80 yards and had a 44-yard play for the longest play in the game. It was in general a dominating effort for the Cardinals as they proceeded to score points in the first three quarters with 31 points. The defense held the Jets to just six points, something that the Texans defense couldn't do last week. The Cardinals had 406 total yards in the game and improve to 6-4 on the season and have a bye next week.

Next week:

NY Jets: vs Indianapolis
Arizona: Bye

TW: 8-3

Philadelphia 34, Dallas 6

Pick: Eagles

The Eagles soared over the Cowboys in Jerry World. Jalen Hurts hit 14 of 20 passes for 202 yards with two touchdowns and had an interception in the win. Johnny Wilson and Dallas Goedert were the players that caught the passes from Hurts. Along with the passing touchdowns, Hurts also rushed for two touchdowns with seven carries for 56 yards. Saquon Barkley had 14 carries for 66 yards in the game. It was a quieter game for him as he had 212 all-purpose yards last week against Jacksonville. AJ Brown caught five passes for 109 yards with a 44-yard play being the longest in the game for Philly. It was a game where the Eagles would get a lead early and wouldn't relinquish it but the Cowboys did keep it close with a 7-6 margin. They would proceed to score 27 unanswered points throughout the game. Philadelphia had 348 total yards in the game. For the Eagles, they improve to 7-2 and host the Commanders in a few days on Thursday.

Cooper Rush would start for the Cowboys. he hit 13 of 23 passes for 45 yards in the game. He would get benched late in the game for Trey Lance. Lance hit 4 of 6 passes for 21 yards with an interception. Kind of forgot he was a Cowboy for a hot second. Rico Dowdle had 12 carries for 53 yards and had the longest play for the Cowboys on a 1-yard play. Jake Ferguson had four catches for 24 yards to be the leading receiver for the Cowboys. Yep it was that rough. The news came of Dak Prescott's season ending injury came on Saturday as he was planning on having a repaired hamstring surgery sometime this week. It was a game that was not close as the Cowboys offense could only muster six points in the first two quarters. The Cowboys had 146 total yards in the game and drop to 3-6 on the season with Mike McCarthy's seat getting a bit warmer.

Next week:

Philadelphia: vs Washington (Thursday night)
Dallas: vs Houston (Monday night)

TW: 9-3

Detroit 26, Houston 23

Pick: Texans

Holy interceptions Batman! Jared Goff hit 15 of 30 passes for 240 yards with two touchdowns and five interceptions. You read that right. Keep in mind, the NFL record in a single game is eight interceptions by Jim Hardy with the Chicago Cardinals against the Philadelphia Eagles in 1950. Sam LaPorta and Amon-Ra St. Brown were the players that caught the passes from Goff. David Montgomery had 12 carries for 32 yards with a touchdown run. Jahmyr Gibbs had 19 carries for 71 yards to be the leading rusher for the Lions. Sam LaPorta had three catches for 66 yards and had the longest play for the Lions on a 37-yard play. The Lions had 345 total yards in the game. Jared Goff had three interceptions in the 1st half while had two in the 3rd quarter. He and the Lions would come back from a 23-7 deficit and got a statement win. Jake Bates hit two field goals in the game but it would be the 52-yard field goal that won it for the Lions and for the hometown kid a win. For the Lions, they improve to 8-1 on the season.

CJ Stroud hit 19 of 33 passes for 232 yards with a touchdown and had two interceptions. John Metchie III was the player that caught the pass from Stroud for six. Joe Mixon had 25 carries for 46 yards with a touchdown run. It certainly has to be one of the reasons why they couldn't sustain a lead. Metchie III had five catches for 74 yards in the game. Joe Mixon had the longest play in the game with a 36-yard play as a pass catcher. He had two catches for 44 yards. The Texans had scored 23 points in the first half and somehow or another let the foot off the gas a bit. The Texans two interceptions happened in the 3rd quarter and the first one happened on the first play of the 3rd quarter for Houston. A gut wrenching loss for the Texans as not only did they blow a 23-7 lead but they also let a team who gave up five interceptions win a game against them. For the Texans, they got 248 total yards in the game while dropping to a 6-4 record.

Next week:

Detroit: vs Jacksonville
Houston: @ Dallas (Monday night)

TW: 9-4

Miami 23, LA Rams 15

Pick: Dolphins

The Dolphins hold off the Rams in Inglewood. Tua Tagovailoa hit 20 of 28 passes for 207 yards with a touchdown pass but also threw an interception. The touchdown pass went to Tyreek Hill. Devon Achane had 12 carries for 37 yards. Malik Washington had a carry for an 18-yard touchdown. Jaylen Waddle had three catches for 57 yards and had the longest play for the Dolphins on a 36-yard play. Miami would have 238 total yards in the game. It was a fairly alright play for them. They were up at one up 17-6 in the game but would let the game let it slip a bit through their fingers. Tua Tagovailoa even had a tackle that made Dolphins fans hold their breath as he lead a tackle with his head. The guy is kind of crazy. Suffice to say, the Dolphins won. For the Dolphins, they improve to 3-6 on the season.

Matthew Stafford hit 32 of 46 passes for 293 yards with an interception. He and the Rams offense would not score a touchdown in this game. Kyren Williams had 15 carries for 62 yards. Puka Nacua had nine catches for 98 yards. The longest play for the Rams was a Demarcus Robinson catch for a 23-yard gain. The Rams had 327 yards in the game. It was a game where the Rams would score no touchdowns, a rarity in the Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford era. Joshua Karty hit five of six field goals in the game. They went 0 for 3 in the redzone and 0 for 1 with goal-to-go situations. Matthew Stafford was sacked four times in the game. The Rams had 327 total yards in the game while dropping to a 4-5 record in 2024.
